PearlDiver Technologies’ Data Featured in SAS Journal

Spine Arthroplasty Society Publication Includes Statistics and Analysis from PearlDiver’s Industry Best Database

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (March 31, 2009) &'; The latest edition of the Spine Arthroplasty Society’s quarterly publication features extensive supplementary data compiled by Fort Wayne-based PearlDiver Technologies Inc. The March 2009 edition of SAS Journal – a leading international peer-reviewed scientific journal for spine surgeons – highlights the work of PearlDiver analyst Matt Menze, who prepared comprehensive tables of information supporting the SAS Journal’s special focuses on Deformity and Lumbar Arthroplasty.

Menze created the tables by mining the data found in PearlDiver’s database of orthopedic records – believed to be the largest, fully HIPAA-compliant, publicly available and searchable database in the country at over 136 million records across nearly 8 million unique patients. “The information PearlDiver was able to quickly put together underscores the strength of our unique set of tools for surgeons, healthcare administrators, practice managers and others,” said Menze, a senior analyst at PearlDiver. “Analyses that used to take many months and hundreds of thousands of dollars to complete can now be accomplished in minutes and at a fraction of the cost.”

“The information provided by PearlDiver for our latest edition is a nice complement to the technical and procedural knowledge provided by our contributing authors and peer reviewers,” added Jonny Dover, managing editor of SAS Journal. “Taken together, all the material provides a very thorough examination of the subject matter. We’re very pleased with the quality of our publication and we’ll continue to add new and valuable content going forward.”
